Skills/Powers:

Body/Form Shifting – When David eats a human- he can take on their form if he wishes until he eats again. (Male or female)  However, he doesn’t have to do this- he can choose to stay in his set form. (This is humans only- does not work on spirits) When he ‘transforms’ into another human however by eating them, he retains some of their original personality quirks until he ‘sheds’ them.

Hyena – He can assume the form of a Hyena in order to fight or lure humans into abandoned or desolate places to eat them.

Personal Information
Personality:

He’s usually very blunt and straight to the point, though sometimes he can become awkward about it. Some might think him rude but he really is only saying what he feels and more often than not this comes out before he thinks. When someone gets to know him he’s no less blunt, but he can be a bit more kind about his opinions. Naturally, this makes him pretty awkward at socially interacting well.

 He likes to try to help other spirits when he can in his strange ways, but has a special hatred for spirits, especially Jinn, who think they are better than everyone else. This leads to a will to be deceiving and do trickery to others because of his nature...and sometimes he can’t resist. He is very work minded however- he finds an appreciation for the bathhouse keeping him busy and will take any task he is given, big or small, very seriously with a detail oriented stride.

 David is almost always hungry and can let his hunger guide his actions…such as becoming grumpy or more unpleasant the longer he doesn’t have anything to eat. But he does his best to behave while working with Guests and Coworkers so that they may have a pleasant experience.

The ghoul is also very frugal up to a point. If he can get by without buying anything he is the most pleased…however, he also has a soft spot for buying rare or interesting trinkets for vendors and tries to refuse to see or be around them if at all possible.

History:

Born from the union of a Jinn and an Iblis, he doesn’t remember his early life much. He was born as a shapeless, horned thing, which quickly grew fur and gained the appearance of a Hyena pup. As far as he is concerned, the beginning of his life started in a graveyard left to ruins in the desert with other ghouls that he was hardly aware of past being ‘pack mates’ who slowly but surely seemed to become different and then disappear

It was only when he had his first taste of human blood, an unlucky young man who went to explore the ancient ruins on a dare from his brethren in a nearby caravan, that the nameless ghoul attacked. Believing that it was a Hyena that brought about his death, the men he was with fled in terror when more began to arrive and hunt them down- it was a massive slaughter. Then, he felt the changes. The ghoul began to change from Hyena to man shaped- a mucus like sack of fluid surrounding the animal form to break through as a human being. It was then…that the ghoul became aware.

It was many years shy a hundred that ghoul learned things. Slow in his learnings around other ghouls who had still not yet become aware he left with the others who had also changed and went their separate ways to human towns and cities in perfect disguises and devoured the unwary. He learned over time what it meant to be able to take on the form of another….and through this process of finding out he could also become the first man he had ever eaten he was named Da'uud, or David through his growing knowledge and a mock to the Arabic god he began to admire and despise for what he was.

David began to travel around the Middle East and some of Africa for years, never getting farther past Greece or Turkey as they developed because of the cold in Europe and his preference for warmth. He settled in graveyards and family tombs, especially in Rome’s catacombs for a time for the Christian massacres before Nero set Rome to flames and he was forced to move elsewhere- back to his homeland.

He never had a place to truly call home, and after five hundred years of wondering what the point of his existence was as he watched his kind begin to disappear and die out for the humans disbelief in Jinn and Ibis he stumbled upon chance some desert dwelling spirits who allowed him to travel with them to the bathhouse. He fell in love with the prospect of the place immediately and after doing his best to find a job there he got one.

Additional Info:  

‘He’ is gender neutral and has no set gender, especially when he eats and may wear another form- his ‘Set form’ is simply that outward appearance of the first person he ate years ago. He prefers to go by male pronouns however. (And usually his set form- he doesn’t like to change often)

He makes it a point to stay away from child-like spirits if he can as it makes him have a craving for human children’s blood.

He’s frugal up to the point where he won’t spend money at all unless he has to- but he’s also extremely weak to buying interesting things from other lands or rare items as a weak point- He hates himself when he spends money.

He makes it a point to never show his true self past being a Hyena- he doesn’t like the way he looks and how ugly he is.

He has two sets of ‘outing’ clothes like the one on his app- White, for the summer to reflect heat, and black, for the winter to retain heat.

Because Ghouls have a weakness to fire, he hates the heat if its more than the desert sun on a nice day. He’ll do almost anything to get out of it.
